Fire Warden Course Overview

Course Structure

The training will be led by someone who is working for the fire service. It will follow this format:

  • Presentation
  • Q & A session
  • Situational discussion
  • Live demonstration (on-site training only)

Topics Covered

Training is based around the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and will include:

  • The role and responsibilities of a fire warden
  • Fire hazards at your premises
  • Fire safety systems at your premises
  • What you should do in the event of a fire
  • What you should do when a fire alarm sounds
  • Using the fire extinguishers at your premises
  • Management of fire safety in the workplace

Fire Warden Certification

Companies are legally obliged to provide fire warden training, and our course will be built around the workplace requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. At the end of the course, each attendee will receive a certificate that will allow them to act as a fire warden.

The certificate does not expire, but is deemed as ‘Best Practice’ to ensure there are always a sufficient number of trained staff onsite at all times.

Fire Warden Training FAQs

Where will the fire warden course take pace?

Our fire warden training can be conducted online over Microsoft Teams or in person. In-person training can take place at a London based hotel, on-site at our Chertsey Head Office or at your own premises.

Course Duration

The online training duration is approximately 1.5 hours, whilst in-person courses duration is approximately 2.5 hours.

How many people can attend a course?

For online training, we recommend up to 12 people, while in-person training has a maximum of 15 people per session.

Will I attend the course with other companies?

The course will generally be for employees of your company only, so that it can be tailored specifically to you and consider the findings of your fire risk assessment. For online sessions where there are fewer than 12 people from one company, they may be mixed with employees from other companies.

How will I be assessed?

There is no assessment, so you do not pass or fail the course. However, each attendee will receive a course certificate to demonstrate that they have undergone fire warden training.

How much does a fire warden training course cost?

Our current pricing structure is as follows (subject to change for bespoke training courses):

  • At your premises – starting from £599
  • Chertsey Head Office – £140 per person
  • Our London based hotel location – starting from £140 per person
  • Online – £80 per person
