Scutum South East has been supporting The Chalk Hills Academy with its fire alarm system for about ten years, during which time we’ve provided regular maintenance and repair services. However, in 2023 it became apparent that their system required a complete upgrade, including all peripherals and the control panel.

The management team at the school expressed interest in having an app connected to their fire alarm system that would ensure relevant staff could be immediately notified in the event of the alarm being triggered or a fault with the system being detected. We recommended the new AdvancedLive mapping solution.

We carried out installation of the new system over the six-week summer holiday period, meaning that any disruption to the school’s operations was kept to an absolute minimum.

The site now enjoys 24/7 protection with our popular monitored fire alarm service, ensuring that the school will benefit from a rapid response to a fire emergency at any time, day or night, 365 days a year.

Our contract with the school also means that we will carry out maintenance and servicing twice a year to ensure the new system’s ongoing effectiveness. That will include testing heat and smoke detectors, and checking that control panels, backup batteries and signals to the remote monitoring centre are working properly.
